My annual reread of my favorite book begins. Christmas tea, holiday candle and a treasured book companion. #reread #favoritebook #literarybestfriend

EvieBee This looks like a lovely vintage edition! I‘d love to see the specs some time. 😉 6y
MKbookworm @EvieBee It is! The only date is 1943 which is the year the book was originally published. This particular edition was published by The Blakiston Company and it states on the copyright page “that this edition made by special arrangement with Harper & Brothers”. Cloth oliveish color cover. I have another Blakiston edition that has 1943 as the only date as well that is a leather dark green cover with finer more delicate paper. 6y
EvieBee @MKbookworm It looks and sounds lovely. I love when the pages stay open like that and the font/paper. 6y

All her life, she'd loved books. She loved the look of them, the smell of them, the sweet weight of them in her arms. Most of all, she loved the feeling she got every time she picked one up - the feeling of holding an entire world in her hands. #belle #beautyandthebeast #literarybestfriend

I loved this book! I want to be friends with Maria Semple and Eleanor Flood, (and let's not forget Bernadette). I don't feel so weird and crazy when reading Semple's books. I adore her writing style and characters. It's a fun ride with these flawed wonderful people. It was funny, and at times, heartbreaking. Maria Semple is my new #literarybestfriend . Please read it so we can talk about it! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I love this book ❤️. I don't care how sad the ending. I love the joy in getting there. I first read this book in 3rd grade (I think) and truly believe that if fates had been different Leslie Burke would have been my best friend. Or maybe I would have been Leslie and Jess would have been my BF. #octphotochallenge #literarybestfriend

RanaElizabeth Oh, yes. Worth the ugly-cry. 7y
jpmcwisemorgan This one and Tuck Everlasting. Cried and cried. 7y
LibrarianRyan @jpmcwisemorgan still cry every time. Movie or book. 7y
DragonSadhana When I first read this book, I hid in my closet and bawled, hoping no one would hear me. Mom did. She never read the book and couldn't understand why I was so distressed! It compounded my grief! 7y

I'm a little behind on my #octphotochallenge so I'm going to post a few in a row. For #literarybestfriend it was hard to pick just one, so instead, I went with one of my favorite authors. #NeilGaiman is an author I can't go wrong with. I have yet to come across a book by him that I haven't immediately fallen in love with.

Krisjericho What a fantastic choice! I adore him. 7y
bookdrunkard78 @Krisjericho he's just fantastic! Most days he's my favorite. 7y

#octphotochallenge #ClassicCharacter Just searched the hashtag and saw so many of my favorites already posted I was stumped until I remembered this girl! She should also be a pick for #literarybestfriend. I would have loved to have been friends with her. ❤️ @LibrarianRyan

A day late, but I have to go with Belle as my #LiteraryBestFriend for #Octphotochallenge. She loves to read and has a huge library, I just want to hang out with her in that library a bit. Our book club can meet there, right?

DivineDiana Oh, yes! That library is a dream come true! 7y

I feel like Gansey would be the best friend ever for me because he is living aestetic and intelligent conversations and endless possibilities and doing things just because you would like to which I definitely don't do often enough and...you see what my point is I think 😄👫👑

For #octphotochallenge #literarybestfriend, I would pick Julie. She was valiant, thoughtful, and clever. We would share in our love of animals and live as Luddites together in the Alaskan wilderness. Yes, I realize I'm saying that while using Litsy and a smartphone. Don't care.

Linsy 😂 love it! 7y
