pickSewing time went fast listening to this fast paced story. Private is involved in a case of heinous foreign nationals raping & murdering and getting a off Scott free with diplomatic immunity. At the same time there is a ring of women marrying wealthy older men and helping their demise along.
panI have read a few books of the private series and wanted to read the #1, from where it all began and to be honest I was disappointed. The story lacks a lot of detail, no depth to anyone, jumbling between 3 cases becomes idiotic and the length of the chapters is simply horrendous. There are two chapter whose lengths are one single page.
I had read the other parts like 4-5 years ago maybe that's why they looked promising.

so-soKnowing how successful the author is I had high hopes. This was my first foray into Patterson‘s work and I will need a strong recommendation on what to read next to give him another chance. It was OK. The chapters were alarmingly short and it flitted around too much at the start for my tastes. A little fanciful and perhaps aimed at the casual reader to bash through on holiday rather than for a serious reader to absorb themselves in.
