Run Away | Harlan Coben

#RunAway #HarlanCoben #BookSpinBingo

You've lost your daughter. She's addicted to drugs and to an abusive boyfriend. And she's made it clear that she doesn't want to be found. Then, quite by chance, you see her busking in New York's Central Park. But she's not the girl you remember. This woman is wasted, frightened and clearly in trouble. You don't stop to think. You approach her, beg her to come home. She runs.

EadieB And you follow her into a dark and dangerous world you never knew existed. Where criminal gangs rule, where drugs are the main currency, and murder is commonplace. Now it's your life on the line. And nowhere and no one is safe. 2y
EadieB This is a book that I felt sorry for Simon. He was chasing his daughter throughout the whole book. We found out that she was hooked on drugs and a bit frightened. It wasn't until the end that he caught up to her and changed her mind. She made him promise not to tell her mother that she killed her friend. It was ok but not one of his best. 2y

The Woods | Harlan Coben

#TheWoods #HarlanCoben #AwesomeApril #Readathon #BookSpinBingo #BookSpin

Paul Copeland, county prosecutor, is grieving over the murder of his sister. He is now working on a murder investigation that could be related to his sister's case. Twenty years ago, four young people went missing in the woods while at a summer camp. Two were found murdered and two are still missing. Can Paul's sister, Camille, still be alive?

EadieB This book hooked me from the start. I found it to be a fast-paced suspenseful read. Harlan Coben is the master of the twist and this book does not disappoint. If you like stories about family secrets then you will enjoy this one. It is definitely one of his better stories. I am now looking forward to reading another of his books as Coben always delivers. This is my #BookSpin for April. 2y
Andrew65 My first standalone by Harlan Coben and still a favourite. 2y

Andrew65 @EadieB I never seem to get approved for Harlan Coben books, Both book 1 and 2 pending, Book 1 been on list almost two years! (edited) 2y
EadieB @Andrew65 I never got approved for his books either. Are you talking about The Boy From The Woods. The Match my library has a copy. Aren‘t they published yet in the UK? (edited) 2y
Andrew65 @EadieB Yes they are now, but they were both requested before they were published. 2y
EadieB @Andrew65 Well! That's their loss as you love his books and would give them a good review! 2y
Andrew65 @EadieB Most definitely, it even says in my profile he is one of my favourite authors. First task once I officially finish work next Monday is to get my Net Galley up to date. A number of reviews to write and a large number of books to read. Just finished my 100th review for them. 2y
EadieB @Andrew65 I still have 18 books to read and I‘ve done 125 reviews. 100 is good for you as you joined a bit after me. 2y
Andrew65 @EadieB Quite a few reviews I still need to write. Will definitely take me over 110. 125 is excellent. Not sure how many more I‘ve got to read, but approved for another couple today. 2y
EadieB @Andrew65 Those will definitely keep you out of trouble! I keep saying that I won‘t request anymore until I finish what I have but it doesn‘t work out that way! 2y
Andrew65 @EadieB Ditto! I am a tad more selective these days but some you can‘t not request! 😂 (edited) 2y
EadieB @Andrew65 I just requested the latest Cork O‘Connor. Just had to have that one! Hope I can get it! 2y
Andrew65 @EadieB I‘m hoping to get the next Roy Grace and. Vera Stanhope book. 2y
EadieB @Andrew65 The Rising Tide by Ann Cleeves is not available for me to request yet but I got denied Elly Griffiths (edited) 2y
Andrew65 @EadieB Got the previous couple of Ruth Galloway books on net galley, but from some reason The Locked Room wasn‘t available on their site over here. (edited) 2y
EadieB @Andrew65 That‘s strange! 2y

The Innocent | Harlan Coben

#TheInnocent #HarlanCoben #FabulousFebruary #Readathon #BookSpinBingo

Some mistakes can change your life forever. Matt Hunter is learning this lesson as he innocently tried to break up a fight and ended up a killer. Nine years after his release from prison, he is now an ex-con who takes nothing for granted. His pregnant wife, Olivia, goes to Boston on a business trip and Matt receives a shocking video call from her and his life begins to unravel.

EadieB Soon Matt is a wanted man after a mysterious man ends up dead and a nun is murdered. Matt and Olivia are forced to run in a desperate attempt to save their future together. The plot was twisting and emotionally charged. The characters were believable and well-developed. Coben is an excellent writer and tied everything up in the end. 2y
EadieB I have read all of his Myron Bolitar books and enjoyed them very much. I look forward to reading another standalone next and would recommend this book to those who like mystery/thrillers. 2y
Andrew65 Such a great writer. 2y
EadieB @Andrew65 I really liked this one but agree with @Tove_Reads that it was longer than necessary! 2y

Stay Close | Harlan Coben

Megan Pierce is a soccer mom with two kids and a perfect husband but a bit wild in her younger days. Ray Levine is a documentary photographer and at age forty he finds himself in a dead-end job. Jack Broome is a detective who is working on a cold case of a local husband and father who disappeared 17 years ago.

EadieB These are 3 lives that will crash together and their hidden secrets from the past will explode and they will find out that there is a fine line between one kind of life and another.
I have read most of Coben's books and I love his humor and wit. His characters are always very colorfully-filled with flaws and secrets. His plots are interesting with lots of twists and turns.

EadieB This one was a bit of a slow-burner and could have been a bit shorter but it did keep me engaged. I was surprised at the killer but there were clues along the way. This book proved once again that Coben is the master of domestic suspense. I look forward to reading some of his other standalones that I haven't read yet. 2y
Andrew65 Finished mine late last night. 2y

The Boy from the Woods | Harlan Coben

Thirty years ago, Wilde was found as a boy living in the woods. He still doesn't know where he comes from, and Naomi Pine is now missing. Naomi was bullied at school. Hester Crimstein, a television criminal attorney, asks Wilde to use his unique skills to help find Naomi. Wilde must venture back into the community where he has never fit in in order to find Naomi.

EadieB I loved reading about Hester again, a character from Coben's Myron Bolitar series. This book was very entertaining with twists that kept me interested. It had great humor that Coben is noted for and interesting characters. The ending was a complete surprise that I did not see coming. I'm looking forward to visiting again with Wilde in the near future. 2y

RaeLovesToRead @Dan_1988 many years ago! He is so good at twists and plots and pacing. Tell No One was one of my faves. (It's been made into a French film too, I believe). I also loved The Woods and Fade Away. 3y
