Jefferson Tayte is good at finding people who don't want to be found. For years he has followed faint genealogical trails to reunite families--and uncover long-hidden secrets. But Tayte is a loner, a man with no ties of his own; his true identity is the most elusive case of his career. But that could all be about to change. Now Tayte has in his possession the beginnings of a new trail--clues his late mentor had started to gather--that might at last lead to his own family. With Professor Jean Summer, his partner in genealogical sleuthing, he travels to Munich to pick up the scent. But the hunt takes them deep into dangerous territory: the sinister secrets of Hitler's Germany, and those who must keep them buried at any cost. When their investigations threaten to undermine a neo-Nazi organisation, Tayte and Summer know time is running out. Can they find their way to the dark heart of a deadly history before they become its latest victims?

I enjoy this series, but totally loved this one - the best one in the series by far! Right from the outset this captured my attention and didn‘t let it go. An interesting story as the genealogical expert tries to find out about his own past and what happened to his parents. Loved the two storylines in the present and during the time of the Third Reich. Watch out for one of the most evil characters you could wish to meet! Recommended. 😍🎯🎄

Andrew65 @Tove_Reads @Crazeedi @EadieB @gradcat Also recommend the audiobooks read by Simon Vance, one of my favourite narrators. 4y
Tove_Reads Neva heard 🤔🤷🏼‍♀️ 4y
Andrew65 @Tove_Reads They were recommended to me a few years ago on another site. More for your too small TBR 😂 (edited) 4y

Tove_Reads Yeah, my two nightstands have 50 ‘must read next‘ books. Then I have about 250 others ‘need to read soon‘ in the bedroom. 4y
EadieB @Andrew65 I do own same of these. Can‘t seem to catch up on my TBR. 4y
Andrew65 @Tove_Reads Think I have about 800 on my bookshelves and a few (?quite a few!) hundred on my Kindle and Audible accounts. Yet I still keep picking them up from the library. 4y
Andrew65 @EadieB Think we can all relate to those. I‘m catching up on a few series whilst I have the three month free trial of Kindle Unlimited. 4y
Tove_Reads I have about 1500 unread at home, and the same amount on my kindle. I visit the library every week to pick up books. Reading 200 books a year is not enough. 4y
Andrew65 @Tove_Reads Nowhere near enough! I just can‘t get to all the books I want to read and the authors keep ploughing them out. The very definition of the impossible task! 😳🤪 4y
Andrew65 @Tove_Reads Already downloaded the next one in this series. 4y
TheEllieMo I really enjoyed this one too 4y
Crazeedi @Tove_Reads your nightstand and such sounds like me! 4y
Crazeedi @Andrew65 so you're doing the audiobooks? That sounds cool. Now I have to pull my copy and ccx read so I can keep up! 4y
Crazeedi @EadieB @Andrew65 @Tove_Reads I just say I hope theres a library in heaven,😉 since I could never read like I wanted to till I stopped working. D 4y
Andrew65 @Crazeedi That would be great, interested to see what you think of it. 😍 4y
Andrew65 @TheEllieMo It was an excellent read. 4y
Andrew65 @Crazeedi Think I have done them all by audiobooks in this series, usually tied in with free trials of Kindle Unlimited. 4y
Crazeedi @Andrew65 I'll let you know. I remember I really liked the first 2, the 3 wasnt as great, so I'm anxious to read this! 4y
Andrew65 @Crazeedi I agree with your views on the first 3. 4y
gradcat @Andrew65 & @Tove_Reads I‘ve not heard of these either, but interesting premise, a genealogist, methinks. ♥️ 4y

Started listening to book 5 in the Jefferson Tayte Genealogical Mystery Series. Hopefully in this one Jefferson will find some answers about his own family history. This one is read by one of my favourite narrators, Simon Vance.

5th book in the Jefferson Tayte series and as I have read all of them, I think this is the best one yet. The author switches back and forth between a historic and a present timeline and in this book it had the best results yet. This is also the first time I listened to the audio book in this series and I thought the narration was really good.

Andrew65 I love Simon Vance‘s narration and agree about this being the best one! 4y

Love this series so far. It combines two of my favorite things genealogy and books.
