Murder at the Vicarage | Agatha Christie

Oh my goodness. This is at the British Library! They have the most wonderful exhibitions always beautifully presented and usually only on for 3 months. Dame Agatha has a 6 month run! They‘re obviously expecting it to be busy! Can‘t wait 😝

Lizpixie Oh I‘m so jealous! I was first given a Dame Agatha to read at 7yrs old by my Auntie Lilla & fell in love with not just her but the whole genre. It was Sparkling Cyanide & I found a 1st Edition of it in a beautiful little second hand bookstore in Katoomba, Blue Mountains NSW & it‘s the star of my Dame Agatha shelf in my library. I would LOVE to see this exhibition!🤩 2w
Mitch When it comes @Lizpixie I‘ll post lots of photos so you can see it all! 2w

And again, doing some background reading on the current Poirot murder mystery. I would have liked any of the displayed covers compared to the one my ebook did. 🙄

Keeping up with the further reading - I am behind anyway 🙈🙈🙈 - before starting the next Poirot in line. Both books narrate Poirot‘s life as displayed throught the different novels and give background infos on how the novels were written and published.

This was an informative book regarding the work and life of Agatha Christie‘s writing. The forensic information used in her books … good read

My plan this evening… A murder mystery musical about the missing days of Agatha Christie. I am really looking forward to it. 🫶🫶🫶

Lesliereadsalot Loved Salt Water. Cant wait to hear your thoughts. 5mo
Ruthiella @Lesliereadsalot I‘m reading it because of your review! 😅 I‘m 80% done and don‘t love it the way you did. That is, unless the last 20% knocks my socks off. It is entertaining but slow and I don‘t appreciate multiple perspective storytelling generally. 5mo
BookNAround Although there is certainly some problematic language and attitudes in the Christie Mallowan memoir, I thoroughly enjoyed it and hope you do too. 5mo
Ruthiella @BookNAround Definitely the memoir reflects a less enlightened view of non-Europeans etc. which is also often found in her novels as well. 5mo

#WhereareyouMonday

This Monday I‘m in 1930s Syria at an archaeological dig with Dame Agatha and her second husband, Max Mallowan. Some of my favorite Poirot novels are those set in the Levant region, so I am looking forward to this memoir.

BarbaraBB Interesting location! 5mo
Ruthiella @BarbaraBB I think it will be an interesting read! 🤞 5mo

These are all books I physically own that I hope to read in May for the #ShelfSweeper readathon hosted by @Tove_Reads and @Andrew65 .

I didn‘t see any from @eanderson ‘s list that happened to coincide with my plans but I will still be reading in her memory #4Elizabeth ❤️ If there is a heaven, surely it is a library.

LeahBergen I really enjoyed the tagged book! 5mo
Andrew65 Looks some excellent reading ahead, good luck. 5mo

Finished TMITBS. I thoroughly enjoyed this!Anne Beddingfeld, the protagonist is intelligent, curious, self aware, independent,& seeking adventure & travel. After she witnesses a terrified man fall onto train tracks, she observes the doctor who came to his aid going thru his pockets, then hurrying away. She notices a paper by with a few numbers on it. What does it mean? What terrified the man? Convoluted plot where all is not what it seems. #ChristieCapers
