Audrey - Jennifer Hallett, the domineering and foul mouthed producer of Bake Expectations, was my favourite character in the first book (Rosalind Palmer Takes the Cake) so I loved seeing her star in this story. Great fun.
Bar Down - Fine but unexceptional m/m hockey romance.
Look Up Handsome - There was far too much going on in this story - it was a mess, frequently made little sense & the “romance” lacked spark. Disappointing.
so-soI was excited for this one, but it didn‘t work for me. The slow burn was overwhelmed by the unionizing subplot, which often felt more like advocacy than romance. I also struggled with Mira‘s repeated hangups about her identity. Some good moments, but the balance was off overall. ⭐️⭐️

so-soI was so excited for this one I had set up a calendar alert for it. However, this didn‘t live up to the cozy GBBO vibes I expected, but I stayed for Doris and Emily‘s love story. The main romance felt forced (Jennifer Hallet… again and again), but the finale was so joyously surprising it made up for a lot. Alexis Hall is not my fave, but at least this one was not a total miss. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ #SapphicRomance
