My good friend loves finding hidden treasures at used book stores and he succeeded in this one. Although this was written in 1961 and about a canoe trip through northwest Canada it says so much about today‘s society

Tamra Love it when books have drawn illustrations - sadly it doesn‘t seem to happen much anymore. 5mo

What a beautiful book! The author moves the story along at just the right pace with poetic language that will make you want to go to Alaska. It tells the story of 90-something Keb Wistling, who is intentional about not dying before he‘s dead, and his grandson who is reinventing himself after a logging accident. The audio is particularly helpful since the book incorporates some phrases in the Tlingit language. ❤️ this book!

SamAnne I took this with me on my mast Alaska trip. Great story! 1y

“Writing anything, for anyone, regardless of expertise, is like crossing the Atlantic in a #canoe. What you are doing is saying "I don't know how to row". Start rowing, you will get there. Just know it will take time and perseverance, but you will get there!” ― Aaron Denius Garcia #QuotsyJun21
