Last day of #boardbookbonanza
I totally agree with some of the other responses including The Lorax, Sneetches, and Horton Hears a Who. All amazing books. So, I had to dig deep for something different. And I chose the Todd Parr books, especially It‘s ok to be Different. Parr‘s childlike illustrations and silly text tackles serious and important issues of tolerance and understanding in a way that a child can understand.

Last post of #boardbookbonanza and I couldn't pick just one. I think the Horton books are some of the most important stories for kids. Responsibility, empathy, compassion, awareness of others, all things that Horton teaches. These are staple books for my kids.

Readingismyescape I love the Horton books. 🐘 6y

I couldn‘t decide - so here are two!
1. The Sneetches, because of its “we are all the same, no matter what we look like” message
2. The Lorax, because of the environmental message
Both are so important in today‘s world.

Thanks for hosting this, @ErinSueG and @WhiskeyMistress ! It was fun!

Readingismyescape I agree completely. These are both essential books. I loved reading them to my kids. 6y
suzie.reads We use the Lorax as part of our English topic in school the children love it and it shows them about the environmental issues 6y
JaclynW Very important and wonderful books. Two of my favorites from Dr. Seuss. 6y

To me, this book is so important for young ones. Our planet will not survive without those who care about it. “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It‘s not.”

Day 4: Loved to Death
My kids loved the “lift-the-flap” books - especially this one. They wore it out quickly.

Day 3: A kids book more entertaining for adults.

The Memoirs of series (goldfish, hamster, parrot) are very funny. I especially like the Parrot one. His sarcasm is often lost on the younger set. Though I can get a lot of laughs with my reading style.
(I fell behind so I‘m catching up)

ReadingRover I love kids books! Especially ones about animals. This looks great. I have to see if the library has it. 6y

Day 4 #boardbookbonanza is a book that was read over and over and over, to the point that it practically disintegrated and we no longer have it. It was definitely a family favorite and managed to survive many years and many kids, before falling fully apart.
