I first learned that Monopoly board games were used in WWII from, “The Ways We Hide” by Kristina McMorris. Her book was good and I‘d recommend it, but I wanted more of the Monopoly story. Imagine my surprise when I discovered this book 🤩 If you‘re looking for a fascinating, less than 300 page non-fiction read, THIS IS IT! I want to tell everyone I meet now about this amazing, almost lost forever, story from WWII.

When hubby is having his friends over to play video games (I swear he‘s an adult, but definitely an ‘elder millennial‘ 🤣) but it‘s too hot to read outside, we improvise by reading in our bedroom by the window and 2 fans blowing on us 🤣🤗👍

Channeling @mcctrish for my “FINALLY FRIDAY after work wine down time” 🤩👍 Started this book during my lunch and so far it‘s good!! #HelloWeekend #FridayHappyReadingHour

I will not call this "Aligator anything", no this is Donald's Dachau...the 1st concentration camp established by the Nazi's. They were so proud of their 1st concentration camp that they would have sold merch if they could have too.
If you're feeling hopeless, overwhelmed and like you have no control over any of this...remember calling it what it is , a concentration camp is resistance. Joy is resistance, knowledge is resistance. Resist

I created a special cubby on my bookshelf filled with some of my nephew‘s books. Some were in his backpack when he died, others were ones we had bought together or I had gifted him. The framed item is his Ex Libris stamp. The flowers from one of the funeral bouquets we were sent. It‘s a sweet way to be reminded of him every day since we connected so deeply over what we were reading.
