Someone who messaged my library a post about #TransDayOfVisibility a few days ago reached out about the book stack post I put together (in which I didn‘t mention TDoV so my manager didn‘t get on about not looking like we have an agenda) and it made my day ❤️😭

I grabbed this for my #TransDayOfVisibility post for the library I work for, and decided to read it after flipping through and seeing the interesting format. It is several people at a PR/marketing company communicating over Slack as unusual things happen (that nobody actively acknowledges). I‘m really enjoying this weird story so far. #UniqueFormat #LGBTQ #Weird

Riveted_Reader_Melissa Sounds very interesting…stacking 13mo
Kenyazero @Riveted_Reader_Melissa so far, I‘d say it‘s worthy of stacking! Hope you enjoy! 13mo

I put together a video featuring this lovely stack of books by trans and nonbinary authors for my library's social media. I didn't acknowledge #TransDayOfVisibility in the post text or tags because my director is always bringing up looking like we have an agenda when it comes to queer content, but this post is for visibility. #LGBTQ #TransAuthors #Bookstack

Clare-Dragonfly Ugh, I‘m sorry your library director pushes back on queer content ☹️ 13mo
Kenyazero @Clare-Dragonfly Fottunately not the top director, just my direct director, the director of comms (I realized after I posted that library directors are a thing. Ours is a Chief Librarian), but it is still really uncomfortable. We do live in a more conservative area. Home to Focus on the Family 🙃 13mo
Clare-Dragonfly Oof. Thank you for doing your part to make the library a safe and welcoming space for the queer community ❤️🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈 13mo

I'm preparing a bookstack post of openly trans authors for #TransDayOfVisibility for the library I work at. I'm delighted that it was hard for me to find a Phoebe & Her Unicorn book checked in that I could use 🤩

mandarchy I can't keep these on the shelves in my library. I did not know the author was trans and I am sure the kids have no idea. As usual, they would not be phased. They just want the books to keep coming! 13mo
Kenyazero @mandarchy I happened to read Secret Loves of Geeks, and she has a comic in there where she talks about learning to love herself in RPG forums as a teen (and meeting her now husband this way). It's a delightful comic. I was surprised to find it. 13mo

Today is the international transgender day of visibility. We celebrate trans and nonbinary people today, both those who can openly live themselves and those who cannot. Here is a collection of great books by trans authors! I find an especially strong connection with this recognition of trans experiences and lives because significant people in my life are trans and have fought hard to live openly as themselves. #TransDayOfVisibility #LGBTQ

Larkken Great lists. Thank you. 3y
Kenyazero @bibliobliss it is excellent! 3y

Kenyazero @Larkken Thank you. I worked hard on this list because it means a lot. 3y
Reggie I don‘t ever really comment on the LGBTQ+ posts you put out there but I want you to know I appreciate them and they‘re important. 3y
batsy Thank you for these recs; I need to get to them. Haven't heard of this one and it sounds really good 3y
Kenyazero @Reggie Thank you! 3y
Kenyazero @batsy I haven't had a chance to read that one yet, but I'm very excited for it. 3y

Larkken I found Detransition, Baby to be very moving. TW for miscarriage, and individuals placing themselves deliberately in abusive relationships with matching, explicit sex 3y
Kenyazero @Larkken I'm looking forward to reading that one! 3y
