pickI reread this, again, for the #timereadalong. I'm nervous about the film, because from the previews Meg seems strong but not super awkward.
In this reading I was thinking more about how L'Engle presents a world where religion and science go together and aren't in opposition. I hadn't remembered the novel as having so much religion in it!
Favorite things - the opening kitchen scene, Aunt Beast, the different planets, Calvin. @jesshowbooks
TommieMarie74 I just reread this too, and I thought the same thing. Apparently I was so absorbed in the plot as a kid that I didn‘t notice all the religion. During my reread, I also felt there were things that lacked explanation and I wished for a little more story to fill in the gaps. I don‘t remember (or didn‘t notice) these gaps as a kid. 6y

ReadingEnvy @Texreader I first reread it when I taught a reading class two years ago and everyone had to reread their favorites. One of my students had this one as a favorite too and we both agreed it held up. 6y
Kboltz Ok so I heard an interview with Oprah and Reese and Mindy, and in that discussion I swear I heard them say that there are quotes from Jay Z and more, please tell me that I am wrong in them changing/updating that sort! 6y
