3 ⭐ This book is about a city where water just keeps getting taller and taller and everybody ignores it until the point they can‘t. In this case everybody happens to be animals. But one person or one otter knew what to do. After convincing the rest of the animals of what to do, they did it, and while the water receded things were not the same. The just knew whatever challenge appeared teamwork would help with whatever was needed.

So sweet and inspirational. Sometimes you just need to read something like this to remember what hope, joy and love can do.

This book won a Caldecott medal in 1996. It is about a police officer who teaches students at schools about what to do to be safe. However, no one ever listens to him until he brings along Gloria, the police dog. Now, everyone listens and there has not been an accident since.

Officer Buckle and Gloria is an absolutely adorable book! It is a perfect book for school settings and even discussing safety in schools
