panNope. When I go into a book knowing there's a semi-absurd premise, something where you're going to work extra hard to suspend disbelief and not think too hard about the details, I'm looking for the result to be charming or meaningful. I feel like this book didn't manage either.
Started out thinking it could have been a novella, now convinced that amount of plot and original rumination minus the redundancies would have fit in a short story. 1/?

The story feels quite unfinished and full of gaps, but it's really awesome nonetheless. If you like science fiction and/or dystopian and/or graphic novels, this is a must read. The artwork is eerily beautiful.

It's been years since I read this #standalone zombie book, but I recall it being a very slow burn that I couldn't put down. A close examination of death and grief that stops just short of being a full zombie apocalypse story.

Wow! Just WOW! This book is amazing. About 3 sisters, Ina, Evelyn and Anastasia. The book starts as the world is heading into a new millennium and the sisters are in their 20s and we follow them until after the pandemic.
Three‘s also a storyteller, telling us about the sisters in the 90s and how he came in contact with them.

This little known novel by Swiss author Boye was published between Brave New World & 1984, Kallocain takes its title after the drug which is developed & is named after the creator/narrator. Kallocain will not only compel people to tell the truth, but will reveal their thoughts/feelings. Although I have read other explorations of individuality vs community in dystopians, Boye's poetic & mesmerizing monologues (CONT)

Wiking looks into his family history and find a lot he didn‘t know before. A reminder that our parents have lived lives before we are born and that we don‘t know everything about their past
This is the last in a trilogy, but I still hope for another book based on the ending
