I am posting one book per day from my extensive, and ever growing, TBR shelves. Some are old and some are new, some were gifts and some I don't remember why I bought them.
Day 32 (yes I know I'm late, and this is the second Worf cover)

Ruthiella Too much Worf is never a bad thing! Qapla‘! 3mo

I just had to share this photo after I saw the “sock monkey“ theme for the #MarchMadnessReadathon #DailyChallenge.

Years ago, I knitted a traditional grey and white monkey for my daughter. She loved it so much that I decided to adapt the pattern to make another, based on her favourite Star Trek character, Data.

Reading this as a buddy read with my son. He‘s practicing reading aloud and improving his English so he reads in Braille and I in print. We just randomly jumped in at book 8 because that‘s what was available in Braille. I think I might actually like the story, we‘ll see, it‘s not my usual genre!

My first Star Trek novel! At first I was thrown off by the omniscient third person point of view, a style I haven‘t read in a long time, but it worked for the ensemble cast. Occasionally the characterization was spot on, but sometimes it had me scratching my head, particularly how Data was constantly represented as having emotions. All in all, an amusing read with several fun twists.

StaceGhost Data always was more human than he gave himself credit for! When Tasha was killed he was sad about it— and that was early days! 2y
Kyndrill So true! Sometimes the whole “I cannot feel emotions” thing just doesn‘t seem right. Maybe he was always feeling them but just didn‘t know what they were. 2y
Nute I am a huge Star Trek fan, but only of the television shows. I have never considered reading the books. Are the books novelizations of the T.V. programs or are the television shows adapted from the books? 2y
Kyndrill @Nute They are novelizations based on the T.V. shows, but with different stories than any of the episodes. I grew up watching The Next Generation and remember my mom reading a lot of the books! So after finishing my re-watch of The Next Generation I decided I wanted to try some of the books. I have another two still to read which are a story about Q. Which is your favorite of the Star Trek T.V. series? 2y

Pickpick

My final book completed in 2021, and my 246th book of the year.

An entertaining read for Star Trek fans that sets up things well for the second book on the trilogy, still not sure what is going on.

36th book finished for #WinterGames2021 and 5th book finished for #NewYearSpecial #20in4 #Readathon

annahenke Impressive totals!! 2y

Andrew65 @stevesbookstuf1 Due to COvID my reading was down this year, but tend to read every available moment. (edited) 2y

Ok I‘ve taken your comments, looked at a few more closely, and rejiggered a bit… here are the 4 I‘m considering now 😁Let me know what you think #GroupW #Round13 #LMPBC

@MaleficentBookDragon @carlthecattt @mklong

carlthecattt The terror sounds really good! 3y
mklong Again, I would be happy with any of them, but I guess Let the Right One In would be my first choice 3y
MaleficentBookDragon The terror sounds good, but at 769 pages it is a chunkster. My top choice is Voices in the Snow but Let the Right One in is also good. I've seen the American movie and I feel the book will probably be much better. 3y
