Chapter 14 of Stalking Jack the Ripper really drives home the struggle for any woman in this time period who aspired to be more than what society deemed appropriate for a woman. I like that Audrey Rose doesn't outright reject all of the conventions, though. I'm enjoying the little touches to this book. That it includes pictures and invokes blood splatter in the chapter headings adds to the experience. I also appreciate the modern thriller pacing to this historical setting.
