Hands down ended up the favorite of this series, so far. But I was so angry (confused?) at first. I didn‘t expect the dark twist (perhaps I should have?) and was so angry at Tamlin! But the city was a shock, and her growth was inspiring. And I must say Rhysand is a surprise. Of course blissful peace and growth eternal would be so boring 🤣 so there‘s the impending doom, war & conspiracy, too. #recentlyread #nospoilers #fantasy

Anger. Surrender. Bliss. Devastation. Triumph. All those emotions and more are encountered in this initial book of the series. I cried. I cheered. I groaned and winced. By the end I was rooting for Feyre with all my heart, and couldn‘t wait to dive into book 2. #recentlyread #nospoilers #fantasy

P.S. Thank you to a friend of mine for prompting me to move these up the TBR and crack open the box!

There haven‘t been too many books this year that have sucked me in and taken me for a ride, and I miss that feeling of not being able to turn the pages fast enough. 🥹🙃 Borrowed this from the library Friday, and before our trip to visit the family in NJ on Saturday (and during) finished it, cover to cover. Paranormal & Fae is just my ☕️. Onto number 2, ASAP! #recentlyread #paranormal #nospoilers #fastpaced

annahenke I‘ve always wondered about these books! 2y
aa_guer2021 @annahenke think someone exactly not the typical crime fighter suddenly seeks revenge and finds out there is more to her life than she has ever known, and also more to the world (in the paranormal sense) than she ever thought possible. If you like that kind of thing, it really sucks you in. 2y
annahenke @aa_guer2021 color me intrigued! 2y

The story continues from Wake. Same cast of characters, with a few more teachers mixed in. The school drama continues, but there is definitely ⚠️ for predatory behavior (vague to not give the plot away). I am thankful I had a couple of hours, because I literally read it that fast. Sucks you in, and you just hold on! #recentlyread #nospoilers #dreams #onesittingread #imagination #school #drama 😳

LibrarianRyan I love this series. 2y

This is YA, but with a bit of an intense subject matter. (School drama, drugs, ⚠️ for abuse) It requires some suspension of belief, because dreams and the like. But it‘s a slow burn of a book, by the end I was flipping pages as fast I could, waiting to get to the end. Also, I am very glad I also had book 2! #recentlyread #nospoilers #scifi #dreams #fastpaced #imagination 😳🙂😃🤔

LibrarianRyan I agree. I love this series. 2y
aa_guer2021 @LibrarianRyan such a find. Both were $3! 2y
LibrarianRyan now about the only way to find them is in a big compilations book Don't close your eyes. I like that these books are relatively small, but when all 3 are bound together it becomes a behemoth that turns away some people. 2y

Finished this one in January 🙃😬. Slowest going of the ones read so far, except for the shock of the end. Brianna and Roger, Bonnet 😡 and Ian. 😞🥲💔 Miscommunication. Hardships. Trials. Family drama. All the feels. And yet it ends on a hopeful note, so my journey continues with the next one. #recentlyread #historicalfiction #timetravel
P.S. life happened and cover got bent 😬 I wasn‘t going to post a picture of it, but decided honest = best

BookNAround I found the fifth book in the series really slow going. 2y
aa_guer2021 @BookNAround coming back to say that I finally conquered book 5, so I completely agree!! 2y

An update on my progress. Flew through book #3. The absolute best and heart-stopping opening line about Jamie, his fate, finding he‘s alive, making the decision to go back!! 20 years. To recover a love that happens once-in-a-lifetime. And at an interesting moment for her, too. And then of course, thrown into the thick of things. Fergus! Laoghaire! 🤔😝😠😨 This time I understand more. And differently. #recentlyread #romance #fantasy #outlander

🥲🇫🇷🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 This book. Set in both times it balances the historical with the personal and the powerful. Character growth, progression, and depth. It‘s helping my reading pace so far for this year, and so an update: my office book shelves are up, my stuffed animal collection has a new home, and my loyal Chatty #catsofLitsy still lays with me while I read. Also #blessed to work from home. #recentlyread #outlander #romance #timetravel 😻

RaeLovesToRead Aww, Chatty is so cute 💕 Also, good to see someone with as many cuddly toys as me 😄 2y
Kloves2read Love this series so much! But this is actually my least fav. But i have to say, ironically it play out well on tv. Season two, turned out great! But just not on paper. Too much poltics for my taste. 2y
Kloves2read But i love your kitty! 2y
aa_guer2021 @RaeLovesToRead thanks. He‘s spoiled because he is my only fur baby, but he definitely knows how to cheer me up when I am down. 🥰🥲 I have been collecting stuffies for a long time, lol. Thankfully my husband doesn‘t mind. 😝 @Kloves2read I am approaching this series with new eyes. And really enjoying it, after seeing the TV show. You are right, the political stuff is a drag, but it is fascinating to read historical stuff in a new context. 2y

2021 ended with this 💎! Character development, the excitement of the chase, difficult decisions and punchy dialogue reminds me how much I enjoy this series, despite the reputation of the author. Detective work and drama on a finer level, for the pleasure of this #bookworm. #recentlyread #nospoilers ❤️📚
