Thanks for the tag, @BarbaraTheBibliophage
1️⃣Yes. We do have our #ReadIntl2020 where we read translated titles at GatheringBooks and our usual quarterly reading themes every year. Right now, it is comic mania and I am having so much fun hunting graphic novels that are not originally published in English.
2️⃣Continuing ever forward to push reading boundaries, because to not read is to die, or go slowly insane.🧚🏼‍♀️📚

BarbaraTheBibliophage Love your #2! Yes, I agree. 4y
TheSpineView Totally agree with #2! Thanks for playing! 😊 4y

#MarchMadness Day 2: This is my #MarchTBR. Top two books are for our #NYRBBookClub. Nearly finished with our February pick and would share my thoughts in the discussion threads ably created by @vivastory and @MicheleinPhilly as soon as I finish reading. All titles fit into our #ReadIntl2020 theme as well.

Liz_M The Book of Disquiet! I was so excited to buy this as a newly released translation and have yet to actually read it. 😂 4y
batsy @Liz_M It's one of my favourites! But I have an older version. I need the new translation (and that cover 😍) 4y

What are you reading this weekend? Mine is Behrouz Boochani‘s “No Friend But The Mountains” at Jebel Hafeet Mountain, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was a perfect 15-17 degrees this morning. Fridays/Saturdays are the weekend here in the Middle East so husband drove all the way up this mountain peak that borders Oman and United Arab Emirates. The place is gorgeous and reminded us a teeny bit of Grand Canyon, but different. 💕🧚🏼‍♀️#ReadIntl2020

#FebruaryFeels Day 1: This is what I hope to be my #FebTBR. Looking forward to catching up on the #ScreamsByMail title, if (and when) it reaches me (cross fingers), then #NYRBBookClub February pick, and my #ReadIntl2020 titles for our Year of International Literature - first quarter theme is FANTASY! These translated titles all fit the bill.

vivastory I really need to check out Shaun Tan! 4y
GatheringBooks @vivastory i strongly suggest you begin with his “the arrival” and follow it through with his “tales from outer suburbia.” i‘ve had the privilege of being part of a panel that skype interviewed him for the asian festival of children‘s content in singapore. He was gracious, kind, thoughtful in his responses, erudite without even trying, and just a supremely talented human being. He is definitely one of Australia‘s greatest authors. (edited) 4y
Eggs A definite ‘creep factor‘ here!! May you have a read-a-licious February! 4y

This is a somber, heart-wrenching winter read, and I am only in the third chapter. My cushy 15-lb weighted blanket is in direct contrast to everything that Boochani has documented here in all its harrowing truths. Yet he manages to find glimpses of joy, beauty, transcendence in a stranger‘s nod of greeting, a boy clinging to his mother, the luminous moon against dark unforgiving skies. #ReadIntl2020

AlaMich I love my weighted blanket! 4y
Cathythoughts I‘ve never heard of a weighted blanket 🤷🏼‍♀️sounds cosy though 4y
