It‘s so interesting to read how Ansel came up with his recipes and how he looks at the world through the eyes of a baker. It‘s intense to see some of the advanced recipes take 3 pages of prep, baking, and assembly over many days. However you cannot rush perfection. It gives you time to learn and grow as a baker and get the difficult techniques down. I cannot wait to start baking!

KaylasReadingNook @Dilara The intermediate and expert lessons definitely require a ton of time and dedication 😂 My husband said it wouldn‘t be so bad. I told him about the marshmallow chick in the egg and that it used a real eggshell and he thought it was an expert lesson. When I told him it was a beginner lesson he paled 😅 2mo

BkClubCare @tpixie - aw, thanks! I only can say that I do a LOT of practice, but I feel I still have much to learn and perfect yet. Point is that pie always tastes good pretty or not! Usually 4mo

Quince pie 🥧 is in my future. 😁 Anyone encountered quince in their reading recently? Discovered the bush under one of our windows has fruit this year! We‘ve lived here 3 years; first we‘ve noticed. 🤣 This cookbook has a Quince Custard.

rockpools I love everything about this! We used to have a quince in our hedge in an old house - it was beautiful! I wonder if one would grow here… (off to Google!). Enjoy your pie! 6mo

Eggs @BookHoarder32 That makes me think so fondly of all the Christmas baking she did🥲! She made things with anise flavoring too, and date bread, cherry nut bread, candies, and every kind of cookie imaginable! I miss how special she made our holidays ❤️ 1y

Appropriately, for Chocolate Covered Anything day, I've brought my favorite holiday candies to work! I am such a sucker for cordial cherries but this brand is secondary. Cella's chocolate cherries are the best and my Nana and I would demolish them!!
