Our book picks for #MummyDaughterBookClub never cease to surprise me. Though, I think this is the first year I‘ve never even heard of my mom‘s OR my sister‘s picks!

An all-around winner at #mummydaughterbookclub! Was this predictable? Yes. Was it more about the how than the what? Yes. Was the part with the FBI confusing and none of us understood the point? Yes.

AlaMich I love the 🍍 glass! 1y

Between work schedules and previous plans and travels, we were only able to have our annual #MummyDaughterBookClub book choice unveiling this past weekend. This is the first year I‘m excited for every choice - usually there‘s one that I‘m not super keen on!

So I totally forgot I had to read the book for #mummydaughterbookclub until about 5 hours before I had to leave. So I mainlined this one - which was easy cause it was a page turner! It had a slow start and did drag a bit at the end but once I was in, I WAS IN! And I finished it with a half hour to spare so I got to shower before leaving!

It was #mummydaughterbookclub tonight with this lovely little book that I summed up as The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo meets The Thirteenth Tale meets Weekend At Bernie‘s.

JamieArc Wow. This sounds interesting with those comparisons! 2y
BiblioLitten That‘s a cool book club and what @JamieArc said too! 2y
janeycanuck @JamieArc it‘s not dark like The Thirteenth Tale but there is a bit of the aspect of trying to figure out something about the author‘s past. 2y
janeycanuck @BiblioLitten We‘ve done it for a few years now - my mom, my sister and I each pick a book that we unveil at Mother‘s Day and then we take turns picking a restaurant to discuss each of the books throughout the year. 2y

#MummyDaughterBookClub! I think this is the second time in 2 years we‘ve been able to meet in person? We got delicious Greek takeout and talked about the book for approximately six minutes, as is our custom. This was the standout book of our book club year, with all of us enjoying it. Both stories moved quickly, keeping pages turning and I enjoyed how Caroline was searching for answers. What a debut for Penner!

Lots of #weekendreading ahead - I need to finish The Lost Apothecary in advance of #MummyDaughterBookClub and I‘d like to try to finish off The Letters of Vincent Van Gogh.

I should also get started (for the third time…) on The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire for #ChunksterChallenge2022.

And I should start The Violin Conspiracy since it‘s due back to the library first but I‘m dying to read The Christie Affair.

My #NovemberTBR! I had a really good October so I‘m not feeling terribly daunted by what November holds - several library holds, my #GirlyBookClub pick, the #pemberlittens current read, my #mummydaughterbookclub book, the last #heycarrots that I haven‘t picked up yet, the #agathachristieclubr2, four more books as I try to #readmyowndamnbooks and only a few leftovers from last month!

ferskner Ooooo so many of these are on my TBR as well! 4y

Based on the author‘s own experience, this was heartbreaking. I definitely understand the mindset of someone with an eating disorder better but I still cannot fathom going through that? It made for an interesting discussion at #mummydaughterbookclub

I read this book in one day but waited until after our #LitsyBookClub discussion today to review. I have read some YA books about eating disorders, but this is the first adult novel I‘ve read. I really appreciated how it focused on the experiences of one woman but gave glimpses of different experiences by the other women at the same treatment facility. It gave me a very clear perspective of what fighting this disease can be like on a daily basis.

Kristy_K I really enjoyed this one too. :) 5y
janeycanuck This is my sister‘s pick for our #mummydaughterbookclub - I‘m looking forward to reading it. 5y
