Scores from the Little Free Library on Tuesday. Do yourself a favour and check out the tagged author‘s kid‘s books. She is incredibly talented.

Jeg I love her books. 3mo

#readingbracket2023 #2023readingbracket I cannot believe how close we are to making our top 2023 picks 🤯😱 Last month (Oct) I couldn‘t decide between “The Last Devil to Die” by Richard Osman or “The Lady from Burma” by Allison Montclair, but I ultimately decided on Osman‘s book. It‘s the last one (for a little while) so it only seemed fitting. This month (Nov) it had to go to the tagged book, it was so much fun getting swept away in Sira‘s story

Karisimo This is one of my all time favs! Might need to re-read someday! 5mo
Aims42 @Karisimo it‘s totally a book to re-read 🥰 There‘s a TV series too that was okay (book is of course better lol) 5mo

This was an unintended PangoBooks find🤪 I was buying a book from a seller and saw this. I read the summary and gasped - it checks alllll my boxes:
✅ Historical fiction {and bonus points for it being from a region and a time period I‘m not familiar with (Spanish Civil War, Madrid & Morocco during the late 1930s and 1940s)}
✅ Strong female characters
✅ A chunkster!!
I ordered the sequel when I still had 200 pages to go, I knew I wanted more!

Aims42 Themes: The Spanish Civil War, 1930-1940s Morocco, Erik Larson meets Adriana Trigiani (facts meets beautiful story telling) 6mo
jlhammar I‘ve had this waiting on my shelves for years. Glad to hear you enjoyed! 6mo
Aims42 @jlhammar I went in trying to manage my expectations but it blew them out of the water. Starting the sequel tonight 🤩 6mo

Zoes_Human No idea how it compares to the book, but there is a Spanish series of this that is GORGEOUS. The clothes, the buildings, the cars, the everything. The show is under the original Spanish name of El tiempo entre costuras. I watched it on Netflix, but it‘s been years, so I‘m not sure if it‘s still there 6mo
Aims42 @Zoes_Human I will look for it, I would LOVE to see it 😍 Thank you!! 6mo

A perfect ending! The book has some unexpected twists. This is a dual story of Jose a young girl in Casablanca during WWII and Zoe a young woman in modern times who comes across Jose‘s journal. While Zoe‘s story starts out slowly, you will soon begin to enjoy reading it. Jose‘s story will hook you from the start and draw you in. Thank you @FeatherV

FeatherV Omg I‘m so excited you liked it! 7mo

I know very little, if anything, about Moroccan history. It was fascinating to learn about the era, customs and the cuisine. It was very vividly described and depicted. I loved Hamou, he was such a great character as was his delightful cat, Madani. I enjoyed following their journeys. It‘s very much a page turner, quite the adventure story. I highly recommend this gripping, compelling and, may I say it, educational read. #Pigeonhole

I love Jane Green, this however, was so disappointing and different from ANYTHING she has ever done. I was looking forward to one thing and was so discouraged I got this. I should have looked here first on my percentages!! Awful in every way…
