Also got to know about Seighart's book 'The Poetry Pharmacy'. So then I went to the bookstore to buy that one, but of course it was sold out. Oh well, i shall soon get my hands on it. 😎

The Conversations: Walter Murch and the Art of Editing Film | Michael Ondaatje

An interesting session today with Yann Martel, Colson Whitehead, Ahdaf Soueif, Hari Kunzru, and Alvaro Enrigue moderated by Chandrahas Choudhary, on the process of writing. Some of the things shared are - 1. Kunzru likes to take "boring photographs" (as he calls it) e.g. a sidewalk, telephone pole, shop-fronts which later assist him with descriptions of such things. 2. Alvaro likes to write in a café in New York. ??

Tanisha_A 3. For Whitehead happiness is not dying while just getting to finishing writing a book (he is hilarious!). 4. To be able to define a word or give meaning to a sentence (with correct usage of vocabulary) is happiness for Martel. 5. For Ahdaf, getting home from work and seeing last night's work done (be it just 3 pages) on her desk is great! 5y
