Another good read from Hourly History! I really enjoy these short bios and there are so many of them to choose from. Naturally, my love for Old Hollywood has led me to read this 13-part series first.

Ingrid Bergman is one of THE Old Hollywood legends and it was fascinating to read about her early life, career and romantic choices. This is a great place for anyone to start that is not overly familiar with the details of her life. 4⭐️

I chose Paul Newman for my monthly Hourly History read. As always, I‘d highly recommend this series which is available on kindle unlimited. It takes me about 30 minutes to read and they have a huge variety of interesting people/time periods, etc to talk about. Paul Newman is one of my fave Old Hollywood actors and I enjoyed learning more about his earlier life. If you want to see a great movie with awesome acting and 2 of the most stunningly ⬇️

JenlovesJT47 Beautiful people you‘ll ever see at the very peak of their gorgeousness, you have to watch Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1958) with Paul and Liz Taylor. He has tons of great movies and I also love Newman‘s Own and their wide variety of yummy food where 100% of the profits go straight to charity. I‘d highly recommend this to anyone wanting to read a good overview of Paul‘s life and career. 4⭐️ #history #biography #hourlyhistory #memoir #oldhollywood 3y

JenlovesJT47 @robinb yes!!! 😍 he has some of the most stunningly beautiful eyes I‘ve ever seen. Even in this black and white picture, they‘re piercing. He was beautiful. ❤️ 3y
Clare-Dragonfly The Paul Newman of Newman‘s Own is this Paul Newman?! Time to buy some Newman-Os… 😋 3y

I really enjoy the hourly history series and try to read at least one a month (they‘re all available on kindle unlimited). Hedy Lamarr was stunningly beautiful but there was so much more to her than that. She was an inventor and also an actress who imo never got enough credit for it. People saw only her beauty and had a hard time looking past that. I‘d highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys biographies. 4⭐️

I‘ve always been fascinated by the disappearance of Amelia Earhart. Maybe someday we‘ll find out what happened to her.

Not being overly familiar with her background, I found this very informative. She was a feminist before feminism was cool and was way ahead of her time. Her drive and determination is very inspiring. Again, I would highly recommend this series which is available on kindle unlimited! 4⭐️

I‘m really enjoying this Hourly History series which is available on kindle unlimited. Being very familiar with James Dean‘s story, I was surprised that there were several things in this that I had never heard before. Jimmy was one of a kind and a spectacular actor imo. I would highly recommend this series! 4⭐️

REALLY short, more like a half hour, but it gave a great over view of Leonard da Vinci‘s life. It‘s a good starting point. This would be great for kids. Each chapter is really short with very simple, straight forward language. Add in a book with his art and/or images of his notebooks and you‘re good to go. It‘s much better than Isaacson droning on about his sexuality and appearance.

GingerAntics I‘m glad I picked this up and I‘m ready to jump into Da Vinci‘s Ghost. 5y

I think that last sentence is probably the most important part. We‘re lucky we have what we do of this indicative man. Why waste time lamenting what we don‘t have, and enjoy and learn from what we do have.

These are supposedly Leonardo da Vinci‘s last words. They definitely give you something to think about.

Here‘s hoping this is far less insufferable than Isaacson‘s book. The intro is already more entertaining.
