1. The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood. Still traumatised by it. Why people read this one and other dystopian society visions all too likely to come true for fun eludes me.
2. Subtle, insidious and spooky please.
I hate gore or body horror. No crass violence, no torture. No dystopian.
Ghosts; psychological, eerie, weird horror? Yes, please!
3. Wilkie Collins. The tagged, especially the stories Dream Woman & A Terribly Strange Bed are creepy.

Ah, and The Blue Lenses by Daphne du Maurier was creepy in the best way, too 😊 Rebecca & My Cousin Rachel by her don't need to be pointed out, right? Neither The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins. The are obvious classic Gothic picks. (edited) 6mo
