Philip of France & Richard the Lionheart discover a mutual spark of attraction @ the same time Phillip is establishing his reign & Richard is dealing w/ a controlling father & an imprisoned mother.

Interesting characters & good scene setting, but 2 problems for me. I wasn‘t invested in the romance, & I‘m not usually into books that reimagine established historical figures so much. W/ a different background, I would have liked it better.🌕🌕🌑🌑🌑

The Lily of Ludgate Hill | Mimi Matthews

I‘ve noticed with this series that by the time the author gets around to describing the love interest he doesn‘t match my mental image of him. Felix Hartford, who has appeared in the previous 2 books, is made out to be a fop which had me imagining him as a skinny Bertie Wooster type figure. Instead he turns out to be tall and imposing (though he doesn‘t tend to come across like that in character) with broad shoulders and a ‘square-chiselled jaw‘.

humouress Ch 11. Unfortunately she‘s reverting to the abbreviated, ungrammatical sentences which marred the beginning of the previous book in the series. A few other niggles; there are clichés and non-communication scattered around. This story is a combination of Austen‘s ‘Emma‘/ ‘Persuasion‘/ ‘Pride and Prejudice‘/ 'Mansfield Park'. (edited) 2d

I copied the idea from @monalyisha and found an old couple of posts from 2017. Usually I don‘t remember dedications, but I liked this one. It‘s relevant to the story as well. #sundayfunday

Last but not least! Pic 3/3 of my epic used book sale haul. Mostly genre fic and craft books (cross stitch).
A couple romances, a pretty solid score of Bujold and Tanith Lee, a couple fantasy, and a random arc of Charles Yu.
So much fun!
