Meh. This is a graphic memoir that just fell flat for me. I never connected with Tillie. She went through some real struggles and I think she felt disconnected growing up. The book was more of her telling the reader what was happening instead of showing what was happening so it felt very surface level.

Rippon is charming. I am totally all in on hearing about figure skating stories.

This was a fun book. I could just imagine Adam Rippon saying the words as I read. He‘s funny throughout but you also see how hard he worked to get to the Olympics and how much he and his mom sacrificed to make that possible. He‘s an inspiring person.

Not that I‘m going to stop reading but I officially made it to 24 hours! I‘m loving Adam Rippon‘s book. I can just hear him saying these words. #24B42020

A great graphic novel memoir about an ice skater who grapples with bullies, fellow skaters, coming out, and her future. This book was beautifully written and drawn and the story was incredibly honest.

Oops, I bought books! My bookoutlet order finally arrived today. I found myself paging through the tagged book, so that may end up being the first of these I tackle. And I‘ll definitely be reading The Night Olivia Fell in October for my buddy read.

I hate that our kids are exposed to such sexual issues and gender identity issues at such a young age. I loved the first half, even though it touched on her being gray. After pg 200 I felt like it was all about her sexuality and her experiences.
I had started this book thing it would tag it as #mg nonfiction graphic novel, but I dont feel it is appropriate for middle grades.
#teenangst not appropriate for middle grades.

This book was ok, it did a lot of stating what happened and telling instead of showing the story.
