pickThis is my 7th book by Helen Dunmore, so I guess you could say I am a fan. Like everything she writes, this is a beautiful, albeit sad story that takes place during WW1 and concerns a young girl, Clare, her cousin, John William, and D.H. Lawrence. Not much happens, but it is totally immersive and evocative of a time and place.
