#fridaynightreadinghour once again I‘m in a car 🤷🏻‍♀️ driving youngest to GO train in Aldershot and going to IKEA to buy shelves for the basement glow up. There will be alcoholic drinks when I finally get home. I‘ve brought 3 books with me 😆 I was almost finished this one before we left, my Buddy read and a new one to start. If you liked Eleanor Oliphant you‘d like this. I wanted to punch Susan‘s brother

lil1inblue I feel this pic. 3d
mcctrish @lil1inblue you are my people ❤️ 3d

Jess is dealing with her mother's unexpected death when she finds herself the curator of the Museum of Ordinary People. I loved the idea of preserving people's "useless" mementos. I didn't love the predictability of the story. I wish the end didn't rely so heavily of the "big reveal" concept- one for Jess, one for the museum, and one for Alex! But it was still satisfying.

Mehso-so

I‘m pretty sure I saw this on a list of “if you enjoyed A Man Called Ove.” It fits to an extent, with a prickly cactus of a main character who becomes more relatable.

The cover has the feel of romance books lately, and I‘d say it‘s not really that. It‘s mostly the story of a woman who recently finds herself accidentally pregnant and then has to deal with her mother‘s death. There is family drama.

I enjoyed it but more meh than pick.

#weekendreads

Will definitely finish “The Fiction Writer” today. I put it on pause to read some other stuff.

Diving in to my 🤞last two books for July. “The Rules of Attraction” is my last #roll100 for the month. The David Grossman is my last #OffMyShelf book and also on my #14Books14Weeks.

#WhereAreYouMonday

This Monday finds me in Malibu, California at a cliff side mansion. So far it‘s just OK but it‘ll be a fast read in any case.

mcctrish At first I read this as you were physically in a mansion on the Malibu coast and I was like “it‘s just okay?!” and then all the words and their meaning kicked in 😆😆😆 3w
Ruthiella @mcctrish 😂😂😂 You know the jet set life I lead… 3w
Charityann This one is on my TBR.😄 3w

I enjoyed reading about Grace and how she regained herself and took control of her life. The story is very timely with its #MeToo storyline. It serves as a reminder to the challenges women face in male/dominated industries. This is especially true of very young women. #ReadWithJenna
