I really enjoyed this book. I would definitely read more by this author. However, don't get me started on the parents that were portrayed in the story... some of them need some serious help! LOL! I gave this book 4 stars. (January)

I‘ve seen multiple sources recommending this 2018 publication recently and it is, simply put, not worth any of that buzz. This is a basic, surface-level “romance” with very little character depth or emotion, and I‘m just not buying the basic premise.
This quirky cozy mystery/romance was perfect for a quick read.
Here are the retellings I'm hoping to tackle this month for the #JaneAustenThenAndNow read: spicy S&S in a beach town, an S&S murder mystery, a polarizing modern version, and three YA takes because dang it, I love YA. Authors Rosie Rushton and Staci Hart have adapted all of Austen's novels, and while I've read Rushton's before, Hart's are new to me. We'll see how this goes...! Anyone else out there looking for some S&S-adjacent reads for February?
My second Hilderbrand. This wasn‘t as good as the last I read but still enjoyable.
I loved this book when it came out and felt the connection to "Frannie" that everyone told me I would feel about Holden Caulfield...I enjoyed getting to step back into this world
My February choice for #ThematicCozies is A Rather Lovely Inheritance, which I have had on my shelves for I-don‘t-know-how-many years. So happy to finally be reading it!
What will everyone else be reading?
All are welcome to join our happy little group!

This is the most unique Jane Austen spin-off I‘ve ever read. I have myself sometimes wondered what it would have been like to be in Jane Austen‘s world, like one of her heroines. Courtney behaved naughtier than I would have. I think I would have been more scared after the whole asylum threat from her mother. Regardless, I enjoyed it! I would have liked a little more information at the end, but it was still satisfying. I recommend for Austen fans.
In the mood for a beach read since it‘s -10 degrees.
