Touted as a YA HF novel, I think it‘s more MG level, Scholastic book. Told from POV of Anastasia, these are diary entries which detail the story of Czar Nicholas and his family.

TheBookgeekFrau I bought this years ago for my daughter and ended up reading it myself. I loved it! Not sure if my daughter ever got around to reading it though 🤔😂 10mo
Eggs I learned something new: Then-Prince of Wales Edward (pre abdication, pre Wallis) had his eye on Anastasia‘s older sister Olga. I believe they were distant cousins. @TheBookgeekFrau 10mo

JenDR I read this earlier this year. Found it at a thrift store and thought it would be a good palette cleanser between other books. Really liked it and now am trying to track down the other ones in the series. 10mo
Eggs I didn‘t realize that Meyer had written so MANY books like this! @JenDR 10mo

#12Booksof2022 I love a good spin on the Anastasia story, and that, combined with Boyne's beautiful prose, made this one a winner for me last April. @Andrew65

Andrew65 Love John Boyne but not read this one. 1y

Boyne is such an amazing story teller. Being a kid in the 90s, I‘ve always been fascinated by Anastasia Romanov. Accidentally, I also listened to an episode of the nonfiction podcast You‘re Wrong About about her which was actually a good companion to Boyne‘s fictional story.
