Finished during the week for #Roll100 October #72 Any Retelling. This is a fun (hopefully start to a new series) featuring Caroline Bingley who jumps in to help Georgiana Darcy when she leaves Pemberley after her maid disappears to London. There‘s a murder & Caroline is determined to solve it. A good cozy mystery & while Caroline is still Caroline, she grows as she investigates & becomes quite likable (while Georgiana ⬇️

I‘m excited about all of these & have already started two of them. 🤗

Despite the title, Hamnet is really Agnes‘ story. A dual storyline, one that traces her life with Shakespeare, from their meeting through their marriage and children. The other is told through Hamnet‘s eyes as his sister grows ill. Once he dies, the last third of the book comes as scattered moments of Agnes and Judith‘s grief. Still, the novel is beautifully written, even if its format feels uneven. Book #72 in 2025

How could I not read this tonight. I ha e a beautiful edition. Maybe I'll make it a tradition. #72-2024

I enjoyed 99 Stories of God more, but this one has some gems, too. And #72 made me guffaw.

Meh, when does friends with benefits not lead to at least one person or both wanting more? I liked the premise of making it about birding- it almost sounds fun. The last third of the book is nothing but smut, but thankfully it‘s not degrading so it wasn‘t too cringe. Book #72 in 2024

A decent thriller, but the main character is kind of flighty and made so many stupid decisions after the accident. Because she‘s so dumb, the story isn‘t believable and it feels like the author was trying too hard. The final twist was a good one and put some of the main characters behavior into perspective, but the author didn‘t need to make her seem so aloof. Book #72 in 2023

Page's memoir deals almost exclusively with sexual/gender related experiences and identity. There are also a lot of references to Halifax, NS, which this Bluenoser personally found enjoyable to listen to. I always recommend the audiobook when reading an autobiography. And as always, this one I borrowed from the Halifax library.

A coming of age story told by 30 year old Percy that recounts meeting Sam when they were just 13. Almost a YA book, I wouldn‘t designate it as such due to described sexual tension and a couple sex scenes. I was unsure about Percy because she almost comes off as whiny and needy, almost. I‘d have loved a few chapters from Sam‘a point of view. Book #72 in 2022
