Library Book | Susan Orlean
post image

I‘m a big fan of the library. I don‘t get to quite as many physical books as I think I can, but almost all of my audiobooks i borrow. (I also have a penchant for impulsive purchases from #Amazon, #BookOutlet, and thrift stores and love reading the ARCs I receive from publishers.)⁣ #booksource #30junebooks

I get anything new from Libby. I have also been reading a lot on my commute using audiobooks from Libby. Other than that, I have been hoarding books over my many years on earth, and therefore have decided to actually start reading some of them.

These 3 are my main #booksource . #30JuneBooks

Kinokuniya - largest, haven for bibliophiles, with over 300000 titles in English, Japanese, Chinese and Malay.

Book Depository- love them for their FREE shipping worldwide, but waiting for my ordered books to arrive always cause me much anxiety..they may arrive 7 weeks later or get lost in the post! 😭

Bookxcess - a remaindered bookstore with fantastic discounts (but not latest titles).

batsy Samesies! 😁🙌🏽 5h

Day 15 of #30junebooks is book source. My three most frequent book sources are the ARCs I get from @shelf.awareness, books from my local branch of the @pimacountylibrary and @bookmanseast, where I work. I very rarely buy new books, I‘m a library / trade books with a friend kinda person. Which sometimes I feel slightly guilty about... Like I should support authors more probably. (Con‘t below)

howjessreads I mean, I‘ve read 130 books so far this year, and I think I bought maybe 5 of those new? But, I also post a lot on social media about what I‘m reading, so that makes me feel better. 🙂 11h
heikemarie My library caters toward a different crowd ( we get mostly James Patterson backlist), so I end up buying more than I want. But most authors would probably love that you're supporting libraries! 10h

This was the first Dean Koontz book I ever read. It was recommended to me by my dad, who also loves to read. I‘ve read this one a few times. I still love it.

This stack of books has been next to me for about a week. Part of it is my latest book haul. I‘ll probably grab from this stack for my next book, but we‘ll see.

#30JuneBooks - U: I haven‘t commented on or reviewed this book because it was a numbing reading experience five years ago. The letter “u” can stand for many related adjectives for this story: unnerving, unbearable, uneasy, unsettling, unflinching...it is unforgiving in its relentless propulsion through a harrowing nightmare. It was an unexpected encounter with a sheer brilliance of storytelling and it remains unforgettable to this very day.

Day 15 of #30JuneBooks
My #booksource is mainly my local library. Whether I'm getting physical books from them or using #libby to borrow audio/ebooks, they are my where I go for books.
My second source is thrift stores, garage sales and library book sales. You get amazing books for super inexpensive and sure they are a little worn but that just adds character.

#Booksource #30JuneBooks. Powell‘s City of Books my favorite bookstore. I can browse for hours and never leave with less than an arm full. You know it‘s big when they have a map to help you navigate. It is a good thing it‘s an hour away or I would have an even bigger problem! I also love The Book Bin it‘s baby Cousin in Corvallis!
