My #JoyousJanuary stacks. I need to keep up with #PemberLittens for Sense and Sensibility and Wuthering Heights (chapter a day for each) and A Truth Universally Acknowledged (weekly sections); and #1619ProjectRead (weekly sections) - right stack. Left stack: finish Ain‘t I a Woman, read books 9-16 (or more) of The Odyssey (#Roll100), and start either Strongman or Pinocchio (#ChildrensClassicRead2022). Three of those are library books.

PurpleyPumpkin Ooh lots of good reading going on! I too am planning to read Pinocchio and The 1619 Project, but haven‘t had a chance to start yet. Aiming for a reading weekend!😅 2y
Andrew65 Good luck 😊👍 2y

Whew, made it! 91 pages of introduction and translator‘s notes! What a cool closing paragraph, though. And it gets even better - the next section has four really cool maps! Yes, four!

But for now I‘m setting it aside and working on #1619ProjectRead - which I believe is my last weekly read to catch up on. Then back to this one (or, equally likely, on to something shiny).

rwmg Who is the translator?

ravenlee @rwmg this edition is translated by Emily Wilson. 2y
rwmg Ah, thank you 2y

I‘ve given in to #WanderingThroughWutheringHeights and read the first two chapters. I figured after almost 20 years I can give it another try. After all, I‘m not already committed to the other two #PemberLittens reads, the #1619ProjectRead, #SheSaid, and everything else I‘m working on…

Why are all the buddy reads/reading challenges so irresistible?

Daisey Yep, I gave in and started to today too, but on audio. 2y
Crinoline_Laphroaig Love it I've got like 5 books I'm currently reading! 2y
batsy Same 😆 I'm in 3-4 different buddy reads atm. Lol 2y
ravenlee @Crinoline_Laphroaig @batsy my kiddo asked me today, “are you reading ALL those books at once?!” I had Wuthering Heights, Sense and Sensibility, and The Odyssey next to me. When I told her I was also reading Ida B, and about to start A Truth Universally Acknowledged and The 1619 Project, she just stared at me. I mean, she‘s no reading slouch herself…but this may be a bit ambitious. 2y
