Um… I have mixed feelings about this, and I wish this wasn‘t the first Dorothea Benton Frank novel I picked to read. On one hand, it‘s a book about returning to the values of an old-fashioned Christmas. On the other hand, it‘s a story of a Black maid coming back from the great beyond (80 years after her death) because the white,super Southern, rich, entitled family she worked for in... Cont below

Tonight‘s light reading — preparing myself to be in a Christmas mood.

A magical Christmas story of a Southern family trying to find their way back to each other and Christmas traditions . Celia Weston‘s narration was delightful.

My #FriendsWithBooks bookclub reads our Christmas book in November so that in December we can have our Christmas dinner party and book exchange. It does feel weird reading a Christmas book before Thanksgiving! Lol 😝 instead of stringing popcorn as a garland I‘m eating it for breakfast!
