pickThis was my first book by this author. It‘s the kind of harmless drama that‘s good for summer reading! It‘s set in my home state and the author went to my university so that added to the fun. The resolution of the main plot was a little unbelievable, but sometimes you just have to go with it.

A soul-soothing beach read with heart, humor, & a tribute to found family. What I loved most wasn‘t the drama, mystery, or seaside backdrop, but the vibrant relationships among the women and children who made the Beach House a home. This is chosen family in all its nuanced, everyday glory. The drama and mystery beyond the Beach House offer lively context, but never pull focus from the women and children at the story‘s heart.
Taking a break from fishing this morning to let my granddaughters sleep in. Reading a light beach read waiting for them to wake up. It‘s 9:07 & they are still asleep. I think we wore them out!

pickDid you ever read a soso book but in a good way? This is one of those times for me. This story is processed sugar straight to the veins when a financial crisis turns strangers into instant besties. There‘s a twist I didn‘t see coming, but that couldn‘t dampen the the love and support found in within the walls of this beach momune. If you want a story where everything goes the protagonist‘s way this might be the ticket!
pickGossipy, a little crime solving, and forced family fun--everything a summer read should be. Not a bad way to spend reading time.

so-soAfter Charlotte‘s husband is arrested for securities fraud, she and her daughter are locked out of their house and join a mommune where women live and help each other.
I was skeptical about the mommune and wasn‘t that engaged with the book.
It just seemed to just drag on and had too many characters to keep track of, but the surprise ending raised the rating up a notch. 4/5
