so-soJuly 1, 2025 Romance books tend to be pretty obvious in terms of the order of events and the ending. As I got closer to the end, I could tell that it was not just "Summer in the City". It was a "summer forever". My predictions were correct. Even though they hated each other earlier and pretended to like one another, they ended up together forever and forgiving each other. Love is whatever way you interpret it ✌?

July 1, 2025 Page 232 out of 292. Exactly 60 pages left to read. Like I mentioned before: This is a good book to read for leisure during the summer - not too short - not too long - but it is not a page turner compred to other romance books I have read. She did write a good book but I feel like it was very surface level in terms of context. Next post will be a review. Stay tuned...
June 30, 2025 oooo weeeeee! Summer in the City is a nice addition to the photo lol Summer is here and I hope the weather can stay like this. I doubt it since we cannot control the weather. The weather controls us. Anyway, still reading this book. So far so good. One of those books that is enjoyable but not a page turner.

pickSummer in the City is a perfect summer book but yet it's just perfect all the time. Elle, is a screenwriter who is writing for a movie set in New York City. Elle meet Parker, who is a billionaire at a nightclub two years earlier, they have a stairwell hookup and she swears never to visit NYC again.
This was a lovely story from start to finish!
Book 40 of the year.

This is my first Alex Aster book and it is so fun. I love how pretty this book is with the stenciled edges, colorful end pages and embossed cover! There are four editions and each one is different. I have the Walmart edition.

This was my first book by Alex Aster, so going into it I had no set expectations. I was pleasantly impressed!
Immediately, I was drawn in by the author‘s writing style. It was easy, effortless, and genuinely funny.
As for the two main characters, Elle and Parker, I liked Parker way more than I liked Elle.

pickI haven‘t read any of Aster‘s books other than this one (forthcoming for 3/25), but I might have to! Her writing style is fun, and she manages to stay away from some of the most common clichés in modern romance while also providing the sort of comfortable predictability I personally want when reading this genre.
