pickIs the big bad wolf real, or is something even more disturbing going on? This is my first Nat Cassidy book and must say, I understand his following. Though I‘m no horror reader, I found entertainment but mostly this book spoke to me about the nature of fear and our response. I saved it for spooky season. Also, the audio did not disappoint.
pickReminiscent of the classic Twilight Zone episode "It's a Good Life," while touching on themes of parenting and paralyzing fear, this book was full of twists and turns and hooked me up until the very end. Very imaginative with some particularly wild sequences. It's also quite violent and bloody, so be warned.
I did get a kick that one of the locations in the story is literally located at the end of the street where I live!
pickWild! This is a brilliant horror novel. It mixes true horrors with the most relatable improv narrator. Jess is down and out in LA. And then, well…things get gruesome. Challenging fear, and no happy fairytale endings. Oh and Roger Rabbits‘ Judge Doom makes an appearance!
pickThis one captured my attention from page one and held on. Great writing, well-developed characters and an interesting look into the power of fear. I‘ll be making my way to Cassidy‘s backlog and looking forward to future releases. Good stuff!

This isn‘t the type of book I would normally pick up, but following along with Aardvark‘s monthly selections has encouraged me to explore the horror genre more, so I decided to give the audiobook a try through Libby. I thought it was a propulsive and surprisingly moving exploration of how fear doesn‘t have to shape our reality. The afterward was really heartfelt. 🎧

This kind of shifting isn't what you generally think of when you hear the word 'shifters'—it's different, in a kinetic way. I'll leave it at that. It did tend to feel like a fast-moving stream of consciousness that wasn't always easy to follow. While certain elements resonated with me, I found I really dislike this author's writing style, though it took me two books to recognize the pattern. ⬇️⬇️⬇️
pickThis is an amazing new horror novel. What seems to be a werewolf slasher becomes so much more. It will give you so many emotions and some fantastic horror. Definitely one of my top reads of the year. 5⭐️
pickI loved the twists in this book. It's a good mix of Firestarter and Lathe of Heaven.
Jess is having a bad night at her work, but when she gets home, she finds a scared little boy, and there is a werewolf after them 🐺

pickNow THIS was amazing!!! Absolutely horrifying, heartfelt, and even funny at times, I can‘t think of anything I would change. Oh my god these characters broke my heart 💔. Jess was AMAZING and the boy was so sincere. The ending…🤯. I would recommend this to just about everyone and will be thinking about it for a while! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
pickThis book was amazing. I enjoyed every minute of it, up until the last chapter. That I did not like, and it felt unnecessary. I didn't need to read an explanation of Jess' thoughts at the end. Other than that, the book was perfect. The characters were unique and the monsters were interesting. This is my favorite Nat Cassidy book so far. Everyone seems to get better and better.
pick⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is my 3rd Nat Cassidy read, he seems to get better and better at his storytelling. I found this to be a page turner since the action starts right away and never really lets up.
His characters are sympathetic and likable you find yourself sort of rooting for everyone in one way or the other.
Imagine a 5 year old boy who can make his very fears come to life? If you want to know, give this a read.

Nat Cassidy has become a great new voice in horror, and he deserves all the praise he gets for his writing. This newest book has all the things I love in a book- creepy premise, badass characters, just enough darkness and gore to keep me on edge, and a bit of humor even to break things up.
This was intense. It was also thought-provoking with great social commentary.
Another read I highly recommend for horror fans.
pickCassidy‘s latest horror novel draws you right in—with a mixture of horrors both large & small. Jess, an actress/waitress in LA, has a horrible night after cleaning the bathroom only to return home to an even stranger disaster that takes her on the run with a young boy she finds in her bushes. Full of surprises, gore & a range of scary imagery (along with some comedic moments to break up the tension), this is well done! Can‘t wait for his next!
