Dead Med was originally published as Suicide Med. Dead Med is a revised edition with about 20% changes.
4 Stars • Dead Med by Freida McFadden is a medical thriller following Heather McKinley, a student at DeWitt Medical School, dubbed "Dead Med" for its history of student overdoses. ⬇️
I love McFadden and how ridiculous her twists are, but this one fell a little flat for me. It was fun to listen to while I packed up my house, but the ending left me a little disappointed. I think there were too many POVs, and this from a reader who digs a multi-POV book. This time, it felt like too much build-up for too little payoff.
I couldn't put this down 🤣
It's not her best book, but I devoured it anyway! Every character was so unlikeable, but I find most of Freida's characters are!
Are all characters in her books unlikable?
Earlier this year I was promoted to cataloger in my library. For the past 3 years or so, I‘ve been helping to start a psychological thriller collection at one of our branches, and now we finally have stickers for them! (No one makes specific psychological thriller stickers, and the ‘thriller‘ options we‘re all blah.. so these were the choice)! To say I‘m nerdy excited is an understatement. 🤩
⭐️⭐️ Originally published as “Suicide Med” several years ago, this was renamed, partially rewritten, and re-released. Should‘ve edited it down, too. Parts were entertaining enough, but all the characters were awful. Probably intentional, but still. I struggled to get through well over 400 pages of this insanity. I need a McFadden break for a while.
