So this is a really specific time in my life where a thriller involving the diabolical world of momfluencers would really get me riled up. But even without that, it still would have been good.
“Do you know what it was like for me, thinking that all I had to do was try harder?”
So in the book 2 former friends are both “momfluencers” 1 (Aspen) is way more famous than the other (Meredith) & Meredith finds out what‘s really going on behind Aspen‘s camera & I love it. Because all these GRWM videos are faaaake, you got out of bed clean & your hair brushed & the baby isn‘t crying & he just sits in the bouncer while you make a 3 course breakfast, he always loves tummy time & never cries at his diaper change. Nah, it‘s faaake.
This one was SO GOOD. I don't feel like I can rave about all the things I liked about it because I don't want to give any spoilers. You'll just have to take my word for it and go in blind like I did; you won't be sorry!

The author gives us twists that are just omissions of truth, and I‘m not a fan. Gatekeeping thoughts for the sake of a twist is deceitful, and it doesn't work for me. But, on the other hand, she writes her characters so compellingly that I was completely hooked; that was on top of them being completely unlikeable. So, in a nutshell, this was completely bingeable but not without its issues. The narration was okay.
If this is the life of influencers, then no thank you! Definitely an interesting read. I was a little disappointed in the ending. ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐
Meredith and Ashton are two influencers, one-time BFFs, and current self-involved moms. After Mer and Ashton have a falling out, Mer decides to mess with Ashton‘s perfect online life all the while using Ashton‘s losses for her gains. Ashton at first struggles to understand how these mishaps keep occurring, and as she‘s piecing it altogether, Meredith goes missing and all eyes turn to her.

Sutanto is just so good at making you just keep turning those pages. It's easy to figure out early on that the timelines don't quite match up so you just want to see where they come together. And then when you hit the 50% point and things really shift? Well, just make sure your afternoon is clear.
“Social media is made for connection, but what happens when two influencers‘ past history turns deadly?“
