Novak's novel, about a wealthy couple desperate to conceive & attempting fertility treatments gave me Rosemary's Baby vibes at first. Then it veered off into unexpected territory. I wholeheartedly recommend going into this one as blind as possible & I agree with King's blurb, "By turns terrifying and blackly funny." One of the most surprising horror novels I've read this year.

I was at my favorite library just now & a librarian saw me reading this & she said she loved it. We had a good conversation about strange books. So far I'm getting slight Rosemary's Baby vibes.

Eerie and engaging. Fun little novel. Read quite a while ago.

There‘s a definite Rosemary‘s Baby-ish NYC vibe here. The writing is good, the characters are interesting, there‘s dark humor, it‘s about to be made into a movie. Novak doesn‘t break for chapters indicating that this is the type of story that‘s meant to be read at a breakneck speed. A very enjoyable, occasionally gasp-inducing read for this jaded horror fan. #littensdressedinblood #horror

Enjoying this more than I expected to. There aren‘t any chapters, which makes it read quickly.

This is a decent horror novel about an infertile couple submitting to an experimental fertility treatment that ends up having terrifying consequences. Shades of body horror and familial strife, the story propels forward at a quick pace and has good characters, but ultimately not enough new ground broken for my taste.
