Theo explores the complexities of government‘s right to ‘eminent domain‘ by representing a family who have lived for generations in a country home with 100+ acres and are now refusing to sell. (“pave paradise and put up a parking lot”) Great story and characters!

marleed I read 3 TB books back to back and really enjoyed these middle grade stories. I had no family member involved in law as I grew up and wondered as I read if those books might have changed my career path had I read them oh say 40 years earlier🤣 4w

The opponent was the team from Central, the "other" school in town and the great
rival of Strattenburg Middle School.

In this installment of the series, Theo Boone uses his debate skills to argue against a bypass that will take away his friend‘s family‘s land. I like that these books have good messages for young readers. #MountTBR Original painting credit goes to @mypoesoul https://poesoulstudio.com

This was a fun, quick read. It took me two sittings to complete it. It‘s a story of a thirteen year old kid lawyer who decides to fight against an infrastructural project which might disrupt the lives of a lot of people in his town of Strattenburg. Hence, the name The activist. The plot is very average not as good as the first book of Theodore Boone series. Also, there‘s hardly any courtroom drama which is what I love most about Grisham.

A friend‘s family is about to lose, through eminent domain, their 100 acre farm that‘s been in the family for generations just so others can line their pockets. Theodore steps in to help.

I can read a book where almost every human character dies and not shed a tear, but let a dog get injured or, heaven forbid, die and I get all boo-hooey.
