The Baby-Sitters Club #27: Jessi and the Superbrat
The Baby-Sitters Club #27: Jessi and the Superbrat | Ann M. Martin

Stoneybrook has gone star-crazy! Derek Masters, an eight-year-old regular on a hit TV sitcom, has moved to town. Everyone's wondering what a real-live TV star will be like-will he srive to school in a limo? Jessi can't believe it, but even stars need baby-sitters,and she's the lucky club member to watch Derek Masters. Even though a lot of kids at school call Derek a spoiled brat, Jessi likes him immediately. He rides bikes and eats junk food like a normal kid, but he has exciting stories about Hollywood, too! Pretty soon baby-sitting and ballet are starting to look kind of boring next to TV scripts and cameras. Maybe Jessi would like to be a star, too!

Mehso-so

Jessi is my favorite BSC character, and I enjoyed the Swan Lake audition storyline (it spoke to my 5th grade ballet-obsessed past self), but the child actor storyline was pretty weak. I did appreciate how they both came together at the end and there was character growth for Jessi.

Pickpick

Just finished this before work. Kind of knew all along who the real super brat was. Still liking this long nostalgia trip I‘m taking. I think I have a little less than 100 books left in the series

FashionableObserver Have you listened to The Babysitter‘s Club Club? It‘s a hilarious podcast where two grown men read the books and discuss each issue. I haven‘t listened in a while but they kept me throughly entertained! 6y
Ajessgirl @FashionableObserver I just subscribed and can‘t wait to listen!! Babysitters club was such an important part of my childhood; can‘t wait to re-experience. 6y
Erinreadsthebooks My kiddos found the tv show on Netflix (or maybe Hulu?) the other day. The acting was laughably horrendous, but my two loved it 🤷🏼‍♀️😁 6y

FashionableObserver @Ajessgirl They, along with Sweet Valley High and the sadly underrated Girl Talk series were a HUGE part of my childhood! There should be a BSC, SVH, GT book club! 6y
FashionableObserver @Erinreadsthebooks the acting was so bad. So deliciously bad! 🤣 I loved it! 6y
Ajessgirl @FashionableObserver I also loved Sweet Valley High!! Did you read the saga spin-offs too? I remember really loving those. 6y
FashionableObserver @Ajessgirl YES! I vividly remember one with a ski trip...I might still have it in a tub somewhere in my attic🤔 6y
