Pickpick

I finished “Then, a Boy” about 2 days ago. Beautifully written and character driven. I love how each character is relatable, complex, and rich. Braxton pulls the reader in with deep inner dialogue, so much so that I found myself wanting to protect him. I also love how Sherman addresses complex childhood trauma such as fatphobia and child abuse, as these are topics not spoken openly in the Black community.
