I can‘t figure it how I had no idea who the killer was. When it was revealed it was soooo obvious but I was tricked. I guess that means it was a good read for me! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I don't enjoy giving low ratings, but I couldn't talk myself into rounding up for this one. A passive lead character and a ton of unanswered questions left me very disappointed with an otherwise fun premise with a lot of potential. Full review on my blog 👇🏽

I thoroughly enjoyed this one! I hope we're going to start seeing more sci-fi slashers come out soon, but in the meantime, there are some good supernatural ones out there. If you're looking for some, here's a list I just posted on my blog 🤗📚🖤

Horror movie lover Alice Lawrence is sent back to last Halloween, the day her sister was killed in a corn maze. The Rules: 1) Find out What Really Happened before midnight and she can keep the changes and 2) Don't die.
Alice has to use all the Final Girl knowledge she has gleaned to survive as bodies drop all around her and secrets are uncovered.
Lots of plot twists, some meta commentary I enjoyed even though slasher horror isn't my usual genre.
Mark Evans was practically cradling the chainsaw.
#FirstLineFridays I am getting SUCH a kick outta this one. It's fun, clever, and brimming with horror movie references. Very much my thing.
A girl at the school I work at gave me this to read over the summer. I was skeptical, but I promised I‘d read it—but I liked it! I enjoyed all the horror movie/podcast references. It‘s kind of like if It‘s A Wonderful Life and Happy Death Day hs a baby. I figured out the killer almost immediately, but it didn‘t take away the fun.
Pretty good book. Loads of twists and turns. Not my favorite ever but worth the read
I liked this novel! Alice is a tough girl and I enjoyed her strength and perseverance. The descriptions of the characters, events and settings paint a complete picture of the narrative, which was easy to follow as well. How to Survive Your Murder is a novel adults and young adults can enjoy, and its a great stepping stone for young adults who enjoy horror but aren‘t ready for more serious ones. This was a great page-turner that kept me guessing.
Enjoyed this one, but beware that the ending is unexpected. #scarathlon #teamslaughter @Clwojick Also my pick for “knife” for the daily prompt challenge as a knife is a prominent weapon in this one. 🎃📖🔪
I was excited to read this book. To me, it took awhile to get to the point of the story. Once it did the book picked up some. I did like the concept of the story. I was a little disappointed in the ending. I understand the references to horror movies, but I felt it was too much. I would not say this is a bad book, just didn‘t completely work for me. It was a quick read & there is a lot of enjoyable parts.
Not bad for totals since I failed at posting this week- I still have so many books to post and review, so expect next week to be much bigger. I did DNF a book, which was Manhunt, which was a little too splatter punky and depressing for me to finish. Still love the cover though. Lots of great reads to come though!

I loved the plot, and it gave me Final Girls movie vibes (which if you like horror-comedy, I totally recommend). I'm not so sure I loved the ending though, which was a bit of a let down. #Scarathlon #TeamSlaughter @Clwojick Word Search- 457.
This book is exactly what I expected with one thing I didn't quite figure out till the end. I had pretty good idea of the culprit from the beginning and their reasoning after learning more. I think the key to enjoying this book is in remembering that's it's YA. It was an easy listen and it had plenty of 90's slasher flick references. I enjoyed it despite figuring things out.

I love YA horror and this novel is meeting all of my expectations so far. It's so fantastically gruesome and unbelievable and I'm loving every moment of the audiobook! Definitely a pick so far.

3½⭐ (Between a Pick and a So-So)
This was quite fun…it did get a tad juvenile at times but for the most part it stayed in the “YA that works for all ages” zone. It did have a few gaping plot holes especially once you get to the twisty, but kind of a sucky ending. Like I get what happened…but it seriously opened up so many more questions for me…that didn‘t really get answers.
Here‘s the start of my TBR for #scarathlon 👻🎃📚 I‘ve also got lots of audio and ebooks picked out. #teamslaughter @Clwojick
2.25 stars-
Another HIGHLY predictable “thriller“ I saw 75% of the twists coming at least an hour before they happened, most at least 2 hours.
Most of the characters were flat, and I didn't really care much when they died because we didn't know that much about them.
It did have some good quotes though. And the narrator was excellent.
