Confessions of a High School Disaster
Confessions of a High School Disaster | Emma Chastain
12 posts | 11 read | 5 to read
In the tradition of Bridget Joness Diary, a lovably flawed high school student chronicles her life as she navigates the highs and lows of family, friendship, school, and love in a diary that sparkles with humor and warmth. Im Chloe Winter, and my life is kiiiiind of a disaster. On the plus side, I got the lead in the musical! On the down side 1. Im a kissing virgin (so so so embarrassing). 2. My best friend, Hannah, is driving me insane. 3. I think Im in love with Mac Brody, the most popular senior guy, whose girlfriend is so beautiful she doesnt even need eyeliner. 4. My dad wont stop asking me if Im okay. 5. Oh, and my mom moved to Mexico to work on her novel. But its fineshell be back soon. She said so. Mom tells me everything is copy. So Im writing down all the horrible things that happen to me in this diary. This is the worst year of my life so far, unless maybe its the best.

I enjoyed these books & am looking forward to Chloe Snow‘s senior year. Not to be taken too seriously these books make for a mostly lighthearted read about a high school girl navigating her way through life. From boys to divorced parents to mean girls Chloe Snow‘s diaries are funny & sometimes sad. Overall I‘d give these books a 3.5/5 rating.

This was an enjoyable YA read of a high school girl written diary entry style during her freshman year. She deals with crushes, slut-shaming, mean girl bullying, new friendships, the lead in the school musical, an incredibly narcissistic mother who has left for Mexico to supposedly work on her novel, plus the infidelity of both her parents. And teenage angst. (This is my teenage niece, who is not especially angsty, but very cute.)

Reviewsbylola This sounds promising but also painful. I have no desire to relive my HS years, although I had a lot of fun at the time! 5y

Spending a few days in the Pacific Northwest on the gorgeous San Juan Islands. Found this book in my sister‘s car when we went across the ferry. So far it‘s very cute—high school angst written in diary form. Sort of a Bridget Jones for teenagers. I love reading on vacation.

There was nothing here that hasn't been done a million times before, but I enjoyed it. Reminded me of my angsty high school drama club days... #24in48

Texreader Beautiful! I love the HS photo but you've only gotten lovelier! How cool is that to "age" so gracefully. If only I could say the same. 7y
