Hosted a great PRIDE Storytime at our local sheep pasture today. 🐑 🌈 📚 Tagged is one of my favorite reads of the day!

monalyisha @ReadingRachael She was originally a footstool! I found her languishing away in the attic & held a naming contest at the Library. Patrons chose to call her JK Growling, which I was nervous about but have actually come to love. It was a little awkward bringing her to a PRIDE event given her namesake but I like to think we were reclaiming the narrative — putting JK in the place she always *should have* been standing. 2y

We have recently become obsessed with Encanto and my favorite character in the movie is Luisa; my fiance told me they had to fight for her to be portrayed in the movie as she was; I find that to be ridiculous. I want my daughter to grow up with body positivity and so we got her this book; materials like this were not available when I was growing up!

The representation in this book is so amazing I teared up!! I've followed Tyler on Instagram for a long time and she has always made a point to be inclusive in her art. I ordered 2 copies, one for myself and one for my niece! I could stare at the pages for hours just trying to catch all the representative details! Go buy this book! #representationmatters #pridemonth
