Turn a Blind Eye | Jeffrey Archer
5 posts | 5 read | 3 to read
Turn a Blind Eye is the third instalment in the gripping story of Detective Inspector William Warwick, by the master storyteller and Sunday Times number one bestselling author of the Clifton Chronicles. William Warwick, now a Detective Inspector, is tasked with a dangerous new line of work, to go undercover and expose crime of another kind: corruption at the heart of the Metropolitan Police Force. His team is focused on following Detective Jerry Summers, a young officer whose lifestyle appears to exceed his income. But as a personal relationship develops with a member of Williams team, it threatens to compromise the whole investigation. Meanwhile, a notorious drug baron goes on trial, with the prosecution case led by Williams father and sister. And Williams wife Beth, now a mother to twins, renews an old acquaintance who appears to have turned over a new leaf, or has she? As the undercover officers start to draw the threads together, William realizes that the corruption may go deeper still, and more of his colleagues than he first thought might be willing to turn a blind eye. EadieB Assem Rashidi goes on trial, defended by Booth Watson QC, while William‘s father Sir Julian and sister Grace lead the prosecution case. William‘s wife Beth, makes a new friend in Christina Faulkner, the ex-wife of criminal financier Miles Faulkner. Faulkner dies suddenly of a heart attack and Christina inherits his estate. William soon learns that the corruption runs deeper than he thought. 2y
EadieB This book holds your attention from the beginning but to properly understand what is going on, you need to read this series by starting with Book 1. The series is well-written with interesting characters and twisty plots. The final page makes you want to immediately read the next book. A very entertaining series. 2y

This was very entertaining; Jeffrey Archer tells a good tale. Really liked a lot of the characters too…and there were a lot of characters. For sure there are several police investigations and story lines … from drugs to art, from police corruption to money laundering. The story kept a good pace. 3/5

This is the 3rd book of the DI William Warwick series, where on one hand William is trying to apprehend the escaped Miles Faulkner and on the other, preparing for the trail of drug lord Assem Rashidi. The irrascible Booth Watson QC is appearing for both criminals and is mounting a spirited defence. Twists at every turn!!
