3.5⭐️ || The physical book is beautiful and it‘s descriptive nature-writing is soothing. This can be picked up in little bits here and there. 🌿 It‘s my #BookSpin for June.

In her novels the natural world always plays a starring role so I was interested in this non fiction collection of column writing focusing on just that. Harrison is amazing with language, evocative with detail and totally accessible. She ignites a passion to observe, a confidence that you can learn and just an overwhelming encouragement to notice life around you. Loved it!

Leftcoastzen Love that cover. 3y

As we begin to emerge from this nightmare that is COVID our renewed appreciated for nature, for observing the small things and finding joy in them - seems the most important legacy of this disaster.

Choosing to read a book about a woman who moves from East London to Suffolk might not be the best plan whilst looking to be distracted from the stress of trying to move ( in real life!) from East London to Suffolk! Oops!

wanderinglynn You‘re moving?!? That sounds exciting! 3y
Crazeedi Looks like a great book 3y
Mitch @wanderinglynn Were hoping so - but it‘s all dependent on 1,001 pieces of a jigsaw puzzle falling into place. 😩 3y

Mitch @Crazeedi her novels have such a strong presence of nature - so it was I interesting to read her non fiction nature pieces 3y
wanderinglynn 🤞🏻 Sending you positive thoughts that it all works out. 💜 3y

ShelleyBooksie Gorgeous 3y
Kristin_Reads @Crazeedi @KathyWheeler @Sparklemn @ShelleyBooksie The nature writing is separated into two sections—City and The Countryside and comes from the Nature Notebook column the author wrote for The Times. It‘s beautiful! 3y

Nature writing at its finest.... and loving the bookmark synergy!

andrew61 Definitely going to read this soon, as the podcast last year was a wonderful relief during lockdown ( if you haven't listened to it I'd recommend). 3y

1. I enjoy cross-stitch, and stitched these bears as a gift for my parents a few years ago.

2. I‘m thankful that the working day is done and I can now relax with a nice glass of wine!
