17 Things I'm Not Allowed to Do Anymore
17 Things I'm Not Allowed to Do Anymore | Jenny Offill
7 posts | 9 read | 4 to read
This Parenting Magazine Best Book of the Year and Bank Street College of Education Best Children's Book of the Year features a kid full of fun ideas. For example, in the morning, gluing her brother's bunny slippers to the floor sounds like a good plan. But now she's not allowed to use glue anymore. And what about when she shows Joey Whipple her underpantsthey're only underpants, right? Turns out she's not allowed to do that again, either. And isn't broccoli the perfect gift for any brother? It's just too bad her parents don't think so. But she has the last laugh in this humerous picture book about not-so-great behavior. And don't miss the companion book to 17 Things I'm Not Allowed to Do Anymore: 11 Experiments that Failed, a zany exploration of the scientific method by everyone's favorite troublemaking protagonist. From the Hardcover edition.

Mehso-so

This RF, 17 Things I‘m Not Allowed To Do Anymore book was ok. Some parts were funny, but there were some parts that I understood parents would have a problem with. The book explains the different 17 things the child did that got her into not being able to do them again. Students will be able to relate and it's a great tool to have them talking about times they did something that they no longer can. LC will be a great strategy to use.

ztorres UDL‘s Strategies: Develop self-assessment and reflection (9.3). Activate or supply background knowledge (3.1). 3y
ztorres ESOL Strategies: Promote cooperation (small groups) and ask numerous questions which require higher-level thinking responses. 3y
ztorres Teacher Resource: There were no resources for teachers to use. The book has not been such a popular sell or engaging for the classroom. I truly agree with it and that's the reason I gave it a so-so. 3y
DrSpalding Read aloud or storytelling would be best. Two semesters ago a student chose this as their storytelling book and it was fantastic! 3y

This RF book would be a fun S! This book details the 17 things that the main character isn't allowed to do anymore, starting with using the stapler. She does a range of things like talking too much about beavers and setting people on fire. Get this book and find out what happens to this little girl after a day of mischief!

Keishla.O UDL 2.5 (Illustrate through multiple media) can be expressed by a performing a traditional and/or digital storytelling.
ESOL strategy 21 (Record your lectures, presentations, or stories on audiotape, especially for new students who have very limited exposure to English) would be met by using a digital storytelling.

DrSpalding This was a fabulous storytelling! Perfect universal design and English learner strategies. Very wise to use the author as a resource. 4y

1. I'm not allowed to buy anymore books. Not for myself, not for my husband, not for our soon to be baby girl. There's no more space. New law: read, donate and THEN restock.
2. I'm not allowed to go anywhere highly populated because germs are rude and being pregnant AND sick is the worst.

This starts out fun and funny-ish and descends into a story about a little girl who is just plain mean and lies by saying she is sorry to get out of trouble. It could have been great, so it‘s a shame.
