I finally finished this book last week after numerous attempts over the last few months. There‘s a lot going on in this book- timeline changes, side stories of minor characters, and twists that (too) neatly wrap up the story.

This wasn't a "bad" book & I did "enjoy" it - mainly for the ritual & relaxation aspects of reading rather than the plot/suspense/character development. However, it did frustrate & annoy me almost to the point of fury. SO FORMULAIC! SO UNORIGINAL! SO PREDICTABLE! Argh - the same 'feel', the same tension, the same structure, pacing, methods ... a thriller by numbers. And yet I do get sucked into the build up - mostly hoping it ... cont. in comments

readingjedi ... will be something genuinely surprising/shocking this time. And I do enjoy the suspense - but always the playing out is a disappointment and I'm left feeling hollow, unsati 6y
