The Autobiography of James T. Kirk chronicles the greatest Starfleet captain's life (2233–2371), in his own words. From his youth spent on Tarsus IV, his time in the Starfleet Academy, his meteoric raise through the ranks of Starfleet, and his illustrious career at the helm of the Enterprise, this in-world memoir uncovers Captain Kirk in a way Star Trek fans have never seen.

I was lucky enough to visit a Star Trek exhibit at a local museum! They had costumes and props from the various series and it was seriously amazing! Of course I HAD to pick up a couple of Trek books in the gift store afterwards! 👍📚💕

CrowCAH What day did you go to The Henry Ford Museum? @VioletCavalier and I attended this past Saturday! 1mo
Branwen @CrowCAH No way!! 😲 That's too funny! I went yesterday afternoon! Wasn't it really neat?! 😀 1mo
CrowCAH @Branwen it was, especially for a non Treky fan. Though, it does make me want to watch a few episodes or a movie. 1mo

rretzler I enjoyed The Autobiography of James T Kirk. It probably wasn't the best written book, but definitely good for a Trek fan. I have but have not yet read The Autobiography of Jean Luc Picard and I've preordered The Autobiography of Mr. Spock which comes out in 2020. I must admit to a fondness for Spock. Wish I could visit the Star Trek exhibit! 1mo
Branwen @rretzler Spock is my favorite too! 😀🖖 I am enjoying the Kirk book so far, despite like you said, it not being the most well written! 😉 It is making me want to start reading trek books again. Amazon is showing the Spock book as coming out next month! Did they release it early you think? 🤔 1mo
rretzler Ah - I see...I preordered the Kindle version which was supposed to be released later this year. I recently received an email saying it wasn't coming out until 2020. But I just checked and apparently the hardcover is releasing soon and the Kindle version not until next year, which is quite interesting... 🖖 1mo
Branwen @rretzler That's so weird that the kindle version would come out so much later! 🤔 1mo

Sorry about being in communicado today. I was marking. I'm leaving for uni tomorrow to teach and from there I'm going o Montréal for a conference. So I am running around like a headless Chicken and not reading. Not writing either. Marking is exhausting.

In the meantime, enjoy my favorite meme of all time.

Nerd time. Also banana time.
Making very slow progress with #litsyAtoZ because I'm not counting 'practical' books towards it, and plus I keep reading the same letters again and again.... Already done A lol.

Interesting so far. Well written but requires a full knowledge of the series to be fully enjoyed.

First, let me say I was skeptical of this book about the pivotal captain of the USS Enterprise—so much could go wrong here. But I am so, so glad I gave The Autobiography a chance. It exemplifies everything I love about Star Trek: it‘s fun and endearing, surprisingly poignant and intelligent while still being action packed. I enjoyed the heck out of this book and fell in love all over again with Starfleet‘s favored son. -Jax

MrBook I was looking at this book last time I was at B&N. Now I'll have to read it 😊👍🏻. 3y
utterKATEness This was on my list but I passed it over for Leonard by Shatner. I'll have to throw it back on the list now. 3y
